I Lost a Pet
If your pet has a microchip, immediately alert the microchip company of your lost pet. Please make sure that the information is up to date so you can easily be reached. One of the most common things to do is post bright colored flyers in the area where the pet was lost. Thanks to social media finding your lost pet has never been more easy! You can post on your social media and join local lost and found groups on facebook. Another good tip is to post on NextDoor, this way your neighbors can be alerted and they can keep an eye out.
I Found a Pet
Although contrary to common believe the shelter is actually the best place to take a found pet. They will be put into the system and the owner can be contacted if the pet has a registered microchip. The shelter will legally hold on to the found pet to give the owner time to locate their pet. If the pet is not redeemed the finder gets first right to adopt.
